Hi, I am Andrijana (Andie) Jeremic
Counselling Psychologist
PS 0146064 PR 0899216
I successfully completed my Master's in Counselling Psychology (with distinction) at the University of Pretoria. It is here that I also obtained my undergraduate and honours degrees in Psychology. My master's thesis was focused on South African female student-athlete swimmers and their experiences of swimming within this context. This topic stemmed from my personal experiences as a female student-athlete, my therapeutic work with learner-athletes, as well as my passion for sports. Presently, I maintain old and acquire new professional competencies by attending Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses and workshops.

More about Andie
My previous therapeutic experience includes practical work as a student psychologist at the Itsoseng psychological clinic in Mamelodi East, the Student Counselling Unit at the University of Pretoria, and the TuksSport High School. As an intern psychologist I was employed by the Centre for Student Support Services (Therapeutic Services) at the University of the Western Cape. At these various establishments I was required to address a range of concerns (including inter - and intra-personal, emotional, educational, behavioural, and sport-related difficulties) in order to facilitate personal growth, development, and a positive change. This was achieved by means of individual psychotherapy, psychoeducational workshops with groups, and psychometric assessments to children, adolescents, and adults.

I take a sincere, collaborative, and validating stance to my work with clients. Having been exposed to a range of therapeutic approaches, the ones that resonate with me most are narrative therapy, schema therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I have also found that incorporating creative forms of expression (like art, writing, imagery, language, and movement) with clients was immensely helpful in their therapeutic journey. However, it is also my experience that one size doesn't actually fit all. With this in mind, my approach to therapy is often integrative. What I mean by this is, I may draw on one or more therapeutic approaches so that I can tailor the treatment to fit you as well as your therapeutic needs and goals.
